How to Use Your ZenTube

Squeeze for Pressure Relief

The ZenTube responds best to a firm, controlled squeeze. The raised pressure points stimulate the palm and increase awareness of the hand. Hold for a few seconds, release, and repeat at your own pace. Many people use this during moments of tension, concentration, or when they need a simple grounding action. Feel the warmth from your increased blood circulation – you want to see slight indents that radiate, that’s how you know it’s working!

Glide Your Thumb

The smooth track along the front is designed for repetitive thumb movement. Run your thumb slowly up and down the curve. This motion is steady, quiet, and ideal for helping your mind settle during work, reading, or phone scrolling.

Spin the Top

The top cap rotates with light resistance to stop it from feeling loose. Turn it using your fingertips or the side of your thumb. The motion gives gentle sensory feedback without being distracting. It can be used as a silent alternative to clicking pens or tapping surfaces.

Scratch & Massage With the Raised Nubs

The outer edge of the spinner includes small textured nubs. Press them into your palm or use them to trace small circles across the skin. The texture creates a controlled scratch-like sensation that many find soothing.

Press the Button

The spring-loaded button offers multiple levels of soft clicking if pressed off-centre and a near-silent press if used straight on – a skill you can master. It gives a small burst of resistance that helps release nervous energy. Use it when you feel the need to tap, click, or fidget during conversations or video calls.

Roll the Base Ball

The rolling ball at the bottom moves freely in its cup, with some resistance the harder you roll. Hold the ZenTube upright and rotate the ball with your thumb or fingertip. This mimics the feel of a joystick and gives smooth, continuous feedback. It is useful during tasks that require long periods of focus.

Pick the Fingernail Runners

The fine grooves along the top spinner allow for light fingernail picking. Run your nail along the ridges when you need a controlled alternative to biting, skin-picking, or tapping. The motion is repetitive and contained.

Compress With The Wrist Strap

Place a fingertip through the loop and tighten gently to create a mild compression pulse. Keep the pressure light and use it as a short grounding technique. Or, just use it for spinnies!
Slip the strap around your wrist to keep the ZenTube close when you are on the move.

Switch Between Motions

The ZenTube is designed to move between actions easily. When one motion loses its effect, rotate the device and try another. Each feature is tuned to give a different type of sensory input. The variety helps prevent overstimulation and keeps your hands occupied without strain.

Why ZenTube?

Hello, I’m Peter. I live with Generalised Anxiety Disorder and ADHD, and I am a parent to two young children. As they moved through school, I noticed the pressure building around them. My daughter began to tic when stressed, and my son became frustrated more easily. The overwhelm of everyday life was affecting us all, including my neurotypical partner.

Screens were everywhere, and most of what children consume offers instant stimulation with no real grounding. What I could not find was a simple physical tool they could hold, squeeze, roll, or focus on. Something that brought the mind back into the body.

One day I handed my daughter a small plastic tube. It had a slight deformation in the shell, just enough texture to keep her hands busy. She held it, squeezed it, and for a moment her shoulders dropped. That tiny shift gave me the idea that became the ZenTube.

My first instinct was excitement, until I researched the space and found other fidget rollers already existed. So I asked myself a different question. “How do you take a useful idea and make it better?” Much better.

I began sketching and modelling. I tested grip shapes, pressure patterns, spinning caps, rolling bases, and buttons with different levels of resistance. The goal was simple. Create a calming tool that works for you when you’re stressed, overwhelmed, or you just need a moment to reset. Something with real tactile feedback, not a novelty.

The result of months of work and community testing and feedback (THANK YOU!) is the ZenTube.

A sensory device designed with intention, made in the UK, built to be carried every day, and shaped by real experience of anxiety, ADHD, and parenting in a busy world.

If it helps you even slightly the way it helps us, that makes all of this worth it.
